Twelve employees at a salt manufacturing facility within the Indian state of Gujarat have been killed on Might 15 when a 3-metre excessive wall collapsed on them, authorities officers mentioned. The incident came about within the city of Morbi in Gujarat. Police have launched an investigation.

“The wall collapsed when the employees have been packing the salt and trapped them,” Rahul Tripathi, Morbi’s prime police official informed Reuters.

“Our bodies of 12 employees have been faraway from beneath the particles. One employee is injured and is hospitalised.”

Gujarat labour minister, Brijesh Merja, informed reporters efforts to seek out and rescue different employees who could also be trapped have been ongoing.

Prime minister Narendra Modi known as the tragedy “heart-rending” in a tweet and his workplace mentioned households of the deceased would obtain compensation.

Industrial accidents, primarily fires, are widespread in India on account of lax security rules.
