STMicroelectronics has begun delivering STM32 microcontrollers in China, collaborating with Huahong Semiconductor to establish a fully localized supply chain. The first batch of these microcontrollers has been fully produced locally, marking a significant milestone for the company.
The localization of STM32 MCU manufacturing starts with the high-performance STM32H7 series, utilizing advanced 40nm technology. Mass production has officially commenced, positioning STMicroelectronics as a leader in the industry.
Henry Cao, a representative from STMicroelectronics, emphasized, “Bringing STM32 MCUs to mass production in China is a core commitment of ST to its Chinese customers.” This commitment is further underscored by the company’s extensive portfolio, which includes high performance, low power consumption, real-time control, DSP, and connectivity features.
STMicroelectronics has established itself as the industry’s first global semiconductor company with a dual supply chain, a strategic move that enhances its operational resilience. The STM32 microcontrollers are widely used across various sectors, including industrial systems, home appliances, industrial automation, motor control, medical devices, and consumer electronics.
With over 48,000 creators and makers, and partnerships with 200,000 customers, STMicroelectronics is poised for continued growth in the semiconductor market. The successful launch of STM32 microcontrollers in China is a testament to the company’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the exact timeline for the next phases of production, but the initial success indicates a promising future for STMicroelectronics in the region.
