A Chennai-based firm, Subbarow Apparels, has made a significant donation of Rs 1 crore to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) for its Sri Balaji Arogya Varaprasadini scheme. This contribution aims to enhance medical facilities and acquire advanced equipment for underprivileged patients at the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS).
The donation cheque was handed over to TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdary, marking a pivotal moment in the ongoing efforts to provide top-quality medical services.
However, this generous act has been overshadowed by controversy surrounding TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu. Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, a prominent political figure, has publicly criticized Naidu’s conduct, labeling it as damaging to TTD’s reputation. Reddy has called for Naidu’s immediate removal, citing accusations of misusing VIP darshan privileges for political gain.
Reddy stated, “B.R. Naidu must be immediately removed for his ‘indecent and disgraceful actions.'” He further accused former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of falsely claiming credit for projects while sidelining officials who contributed to their success.
The backdrop of this controversy includes the establishment of the FSSAI technology lab during the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government, which has been a point of contention in the ongoing political landscape.
As TTD continues to extend its role beyond spiritual services to support education, healthcare, and social welfare programs, the implications of this donation and the surrounding controversies are significant.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the potential impact of these criticisms on B.R. Naidu’s position and TTD’s future initiatives.
With the Jubilee Hills Society elections approaching on April 5, the political dynamics surrounding TTD and its leadership are expected to intensify.
The intersection of philanthropy and politics in this case highlights the urgent need for transparency and integrity within TTD’s leadership.
