New MacBook Neo Available for Preorder
The new MacBook Neo is now available for preorder at the Apple Store, Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. This marks a significant step for Apple as it introduces what is described as the company’s first dedicated budget laptop.
Starting at $599, the MacBook Neo is positioned to attract a wider audience, particularly students and budget-conscious consumers. Education buyers can take advantage of a $100 discount when ordering directly through the Apple Store.
Set to begin shipping on March 11, 2026, the MacBook Neo runs on the powerful A18 Pro chip, ensuring robust performance for everyday tasks and more demanding applications.
The laptop features a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, offering vibrant colors and sharp images. Additionally, it is configurable with either 256GB or 512GB of storage, catering to different user needs.
Connectivity options include WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 6, enhancing wireless performance and compatibility with the latest devices. The MacBook Neo also comes with two USB-C ports, providing versatility for users.
In terms of design, the MacBook Neo boasts an all-aluminum body, contributing to its sleek and modern aesthetic. However, it is worth noting that the keyboard does not feature backlighting, which may be a consideration for some users.
Available in four colors—silver, indigo, blush, and citrus—the MacBook Neo offers a range of choices for personalization. This new model informally succeeds the M1 MacBook Air, which was sold through Walmart for around $699 from March 2024 to early this year.
As Apple continues to expand its product lineup, the introduction of the MacBook Neo could redefine the budget laptop segment, appealing to a demographic that values both performance and affordability.
With the preorder phase now underway, many are eager to see how the MacBook Neo performs in the competitive laptop market once it officially launches.
