Upcoming Release of UP Scholarship Funds
As the academic year progresses, students in Uttar Pradesh are preparing for the release of the second installment of the UP Scholarship for the 2025–26 academic session. Scheduled for March 18, 2026, this installment is crucial for many students who rely on this financial support to continue their education.
The UP Scholarship Scheme, administered by the Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department, aims to assist students from various backgrounds, including General, OBC, SC/ST, and minority communities. This initiative is particularly important as it helps alleviate some of the financial burdens associated with education.
Eligibility criteria for the scholarship vary based on the type of student. Pre-Matric students must have a family income below ₹1 lakh annually, while Post-Matric students are eligible if their family income does not exceed ₹2 lakh per year. For SC/ST students, the income limit is set at ₹2.5 lakh per year.
To ensure a smooth disbursement process, the scholarship amount will be transferred directly to students’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. Students must link their bank accounts with Aadhaar to receive the payments effectively.
Students can track their application status on the official website, scholarship.up.gov.in. By entering their registration number and date of birth, they can determine whether their application is pending, rejected, or has been disbursed.
If the application status indicates ‘Pending at District Scholarship Committee’, it means that verification is still ongoing. Conversely, a status of ‘Rejected’ suggests that there may be incorrect details or missing documents in the application.
For those whose applications show ‘Disbursed’, the scholarship amount has already been transferred to their bank accounts, providing much-needed financial relief.
