Fans Rally for Heeseung’s Solo Career

Heeseung, a prominent member of the K-pop group ENHYPEN, recently announced his departure from the group to focus on a solo career. This announcement has prompted a wave of support from fans, who have launched a Change.org petition urging BELIFT LAB to allow Heeseung to pursue his solo artistry while still being a part of ENHYPEN. The petition surpassed one million signatures within just 48 hours and has now collected over 1.23 million signatures.
The petition, which is available in Korean, Japanese, and English, reflects the sentiments of fans who describe Heeseung as “an essential part of ENHYPEN’s identity.” They are advocating for a solution that enables Heeseung’s individual artistic expression without necessitating his separation from the group.
On March 10, BELIFT LAB confirmed Heeseung’s departure from ENHYPEN, which came shortly after the release of the group’s seventh mini album. The remaining six members of ENHYPEN expressed their support for Heeseung’s decision, with one member stating, “I respect and support Heeseung’s decision.” This support from his bandmates highlights the internal dynamics of the group during this transitional period.
In a show of solidarity, approximately 18 protest trucks were lined up outside HYBE’s headquarters in Seoul, where fans gathered to voice their concerns. The hashtags #ENHYPENIS7 and #BringBackHeeseung trended globally on social media, indicating the widespread support for Heeseung and the petition.
Heeseung himself reflected on his time with ENHYPEN, stating, “My six years with the group have been overwhelmingly meaningful.” This sentiment resonates with fans who have followed his journey since ENHYPEN’s formation on the survival show I-Land in 2020.
