The Assam authorities on Saturday issued new SOPs for Republic Day celebrations amid COVID-19 surge.
As per the order, a complete of 1,000 folks can be allowed to attend the programme on the state degree and 500 on the district degree. Pre and post-Republic Day celebrations to be prevented, reads the SOP.
In accordance with the brand new SOPs, the Republic Day programme can be restricted to Nationwide Flag hoisting, speech by the visitor of honour and ceremonial parade solely. Different actions like cultural programmes, award and prize distribution are to be prevented.
There shall be no involvement of faculty kids within the ceremonial parade. And solely educated police, safety personnel and residential guards who’re absolutely vaccinated shall be allowed to take part within the ceremonial parade and march, reads the SOP.
