NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate to the nation the modernised and expanded plant of state-run metal maker SAIL at Bhilai, on Thursday.
Bhilai is Metal Authrity of India Ltd’s (SAIL) largest plant and main producer and provider of rails for Indian Railways together with 260 metre lengthy rails.

This may be the third plant of SAIL which the prime minister will dedicate to the nation. In 2015, he had devoted Rourkela and IISCO metal crops. SAIL had undertaken about Rs 70,000 crore modernisation and growth of its built-in metal crops.
The capability to provide rails at Bhilai metal plant has reached 2 MTPA from 0.8 MTPA after modernisation. Bhilai can also be a significant producer of huge number of large and heavy metal plates and structural metal.
With an annual manufacturing capability of three.153 MT of saleable metal, the plant additionally specialises in different merchandise reminiscent of wire rods, service provider merchandise, earthquake-resistant grade of TMT and heavy structurals together with channels and beams.
