The Nagaland authorities on Saturday created three new districts bringing the whole variety of such administrative items within the state to fifteen.

The state Cupboard selected the formation of Tseminyu, Niuland, and Chumukedima districts, Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton advised journalists on the sidelines of a programme right here.

Whereas the Tseminyu sub-division in Kohima district has been upgraded to a district, Niuland and Chumukedima have been carved out of Dimapur district.

Although there have been calls for from a minimum of 11 tribes for the creation of recent districts, the Cupboard might take into account solely three of them as some districts are inhabited by just one tribe and people can’t be divided, the deputy chief minister stated.

When requested to elaborate the explanation for forming two districts underneath Ghaspani-I Meeting constituency in Dimapur district, Patton stated “ Chumukedima has been created as an urban-rural district whereas Niuland is within the border space and there was a must have a district”.

On the official inauguration of the brand new districts, Patton stated “the federal government will repair the date quickly”.

In the meantime, Advisor for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Providers and Girls Assets Growth and native MLA, R Khing appreciated Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, and the state Cupboard for the creation of Tseminyu district and termed the choice because the “Best Christmas Reward” for the Rengma neighborhood.

Addressing a press convention at his official residence in Thizama right here, Khing expressed his gratitude to the chief minister for fulfilling a long-standing demand of the Rengma Nagas.

The creation of the Tseminyu district is a success of the federal government’s motto ‘Deeds not phrases’, he stated.

Taking to Twitter, PHE Minister N Jacob Zhimoni stated he was delighted to share that Niuland and Chumukedima underneath his constituency, have been created as new districts by the state Cupboard.

“Grateful and grateful to HCM @Neiphiu_Rio ji. The most effective Christmas reward ever,” he stated on the micro-blogging web site.

Tseminyu turned the thirteenth, Niluland 14th, and Chumukedima the fifteenth district of the northeastern state.
