Guwahati: Guwahati’s Sneha Pareek secured second position in the final result declared by JEE Mains National Testing Agency (NTA) on Monday.
Pareek is the first woman candidate to secure the second position all over India. She will pursue computer science engineering at one of the IITs in India.
Sneha said, “I have always had a passion for computers and it was my dream to become an engineer.”
The Pareek family is a resident of Rajgarh in Guwahati. Sneha completed her schooling from St. Mary’s School in Maligaon and did her higher secondary education from Sai RNS Academy along with coaching course from Allen Academy.
“Our family always supported her and was never disappointed that she was not able to share much time with us. We are very proud of her now,” said Sneha’s father Rajiv.
As claimed by the coaching institute, Sneha Pareek has scored 300/300 and 100 percentile correctly.
According to the NTA, Pareek is among 24 candidates who have secured 100 marks in the engineering entrance JEE-Main, while the results of five students have been withheld for using unfair means.

The cumulative result of two sessions of JEE-Main was declared on Monday.
Maximum candidates securing 100 NTA score are from Rajasthan (4) followed by Andhra Pradesh (5) and Telangana (5).
