Chandigarh: A minimum of 11 disqualified MLAs in Haryana are drawing pension and allowances from the state authorities for the final 11 years, says an RTI report.
An RTI reply accessed by Instances Now says that a number of disqualified MLAs of Haryana have been misusing taxpayers’ cash to attract pensions, dearness and journey allowances for 11 years.
Studying out from the report, RTI activist PP Kapoor stated again in 2010, then Haryana Speaker Chaudhary Satbir Singh Kadiyan had disqualified 11 MLAs beneath the anti-defection legislation.
Out of them, six have been disqualified by the Supreme Court docket as nicely, nevertheless, they continued to obtain pensions and allowances.
As per Kapoor, Congress had enacted a legislation in 2010 which regularised all MLAs who have been disqualified for defection and different causes.
Since their disqualification, these MLAs are getting Rs 51,800 as pension and Rs 10,000 as travelling allowance each month, stated the RTI activist.

Reacting to the RTI report, the Bharatiya Janata Get together (BJP) management in Haryana opined that such MLAs ought to deposit cash to the federal government’s account or motion can be taken in opposition to them.
