With the Centre slashing excise obligation on petrol and diesel, the Haryana authorities too introduced a discount in VAT on the fuels on Thursday, making them cheaper within the BJP-JJP-ruled state by Rs 12 per litre on Diwali.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar took to Twitter to announce the measure.

“On the event of Diwali, the central authorities has introduced a discount in costs of petrol and diesel. Taking it ahead, the Haryana authorities has additionally diminished the speed of VAT on petrol and diesel within the state.

“Now, each petrol and diesel in total Haryana might be cheaper by Rs 12 per litre,” the chief minister mentioned.

A day earlier, the BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh authorities too lowered the VAT charge on the 2 fuels, making them cheaper by Rs 12 per litre within the state. Another BJP-ruled states have lowered their VAT charges as effectively.


On Wednesday, the Narendra Modi authorities introduced a lower within the excise obligation on petrol and diesel by Rs 5 and Rs 10 respectively, bringing down their retail charges from report highs.
