Infra providers seek Assam govt’s support for uninterrupted mobile services amid floods
NEW DELHI: Telecom infrastructure suppliers have sought Assam authorities’s pressing help to make sure that cell companies stay unaffected by the flood scenario within the state.

Digital Infrastructure Suppliers Affiliation (DIPA) Thursday stated it has written to Jishnu Barua, IAS, Chief Secretary, Assam, requesting mandatory well timed measures to make sure clean telecom operations, security of telecom staff and around the clock telecom connectivity within the state, as per a press release.

The affiliation has moreover requested unrestricted entry to telecom personnel for accessing telecom websites, availability of diesel for telecom towers, availability of energy, cell on wheels deployment and call particulars of devoted nodal officers from the electrical energy division/DISCOMs, amongst others.

“All our IP members are proactive and have taken mandatory steps to make sure connectivity 24/7 within the areas which have been affected by the continued flood and all of the background preparations like further DG units, battery banks, spare components, and stocking of diesel are taken care of,” stated T.R.Dua, director-general, DIPA.
