In an effort to ascertain good relations with its neighboring state – Tripura and promote brotherhood with quite a few Zo or Mizo kindred group residing alongside the area; the Mizoram Chief Minister – Zoramthanga in the present day flagged-off an inter-state bus service from Aizawl to Tripura’s Behliangchip in Jampui Hills.

In response to experiences, the proposed bus service can be operational between Mizoram’s capital Aizawl and Behliangchhip city in Kanchanpur sub-division of North Tripura district.

As per the Director of State Transport Division – R Lalrammawia, the Mizoram state transport buses would depart from Aizawl on Mondays and Thursdays at 6 AM; and it’ll return from Behliangchhip in Jampui Hills on Tuesdays and Fridays. The fare for Aizawl-Behliangchhip has been fastened at Rs 476.

Through the historic event, Zoramthanga expressed hope that such a bus service would foster nationwide cohesion and a pleasing surroundings between the neighbouring states, whereas additionally offering much-needed facilities for passengers on each side.

He additionally expressed his gratitude to the Tripura administration for its cooperation in enhancing the connecting highways.
