On the event of Gandhi Jayanti, the Tourism Division in collaboration with Mizoram Biking Affiliation organized a Biking Competitors – Tour de Hmuifang.

The occasion was flagged-off from Mualpui Zero Level by Tourism, Sports activities & ICT Growth Vice-Chairman, Pu TC Pachhunga.

A complete of 72 cyclists from Aizawl, Lunglei, Kolasib, Champhai, Serchhip and Saitual Districts participated within the occasion.

The competitors was organized in two classes – ‘Under 35 Years’ and ‘Above 35 Years’.

In ‘Under 35 Years’ Class : Mesak Vanlalvena of Sihfa coated the 53 kms journey in 2 hours 14 minutes breaking his personal earlier report of two hours 20 minutes, a report that bagged him the winner title in 2020.

Malsawmkima of Chhippir coated the journey in 2 hours 23 minutes that bagged him the second place. Whereas, the third place went to Lalruatfela of Bawngkawn with a timing of two:25 hours.

In ‘Above 35 Years’ Class : Lallawmsanga of Mission Veng clocked the journey in 2 hours 35 minutes and clinched the primary place.

David Rualzakhuma of Saron Veng, coated the journey inside a timing of two hours 42 minutes, that earned him the second place.

Whereas, R Lalhmachhuana of Champhai stood third with a timing of two hours 47 minutes.

Based on studies, 52-year-old Dr Malsawmkima, was the oldest competitor whereas 12-year-old Lalramluahpuia Zote was the youngest participant.

The Tourism Minister Pu Robert Romawia Royte earlier introduced that Tour de Hmuifang can be held yearly to additional promote, restore and re-activate the sector, whereas defending jobs and companies.
