Opposition MPs raised the Nagaland firing incident, through which 14 civilians had been killed throughout an anti-insurgency operation by safety forces, in Rajya Sabha on Monday.
There was a really critical and most tragic improvement through which six harmless civilians had been killed on December 4 by safety forces in Mon district of Nagaland mistaking them for militants, Chief of Opposition and Congress MP Mallikarjun Kharge mentioned.
This horrific oversight led to clashes leading to reported loss of life of eight extra civilians and one safety individual, the senior Congress chief mentioned.
“Sir, the matter may be very critical and horrendous. We demand an announcement by the Minister of Dwelling Affairs on it within the Home at this time solely. It’s a critical matter, I request you to direct the minister to make an announcement,” Kharge mentioned, addressing the Chair.
Chief of the Home Piyush Goyal additionally mentioned the matter is critical. “The federal government is seized of the matter. The federal government will make an in depth assertion on this subject,” he mentioned. (PTI)
