JAIPUR: A gold medallist in MSc from Rajasthan College who wore a black band at his convocation ceremony on Thursday in protest in opposition to latest police crackdown on faculty college students was detained.
Anant Mishra, a geology scholar who accomplished his MSc in 2017 from Rajasthan College, is at the moment pursuing M Tech from IIT, Gandhinagar. He had tied a black band on his proper arm whereas accepting the gold medal from Rajasthan governor Kalraj Mishra, greater schooling minister B S Bhati and college vice-chancellor R Okay Kothari. After the convocation, he advised the media that he was protesting in opposition to the latest police motion on Jamia and AMU college students.
“College students have been crushed up on the campus. It’s inhuman and unconstitutional. Subsequently, I tied the black band,” the gold medallist stated. The coed was taken to Gandhi Nagar police station however was launched later. SHO Anil Jasoriya advised TOI, “He was detained to inquire concerning the purpose of his protest. As he didn’t create any disturbance and obtained his diploma peacefully, so we let him go.”
