Aizawl: Mizoram’s lone Rajya Sabha member Ok. Vanlalvena on Friday urged the Centre to offer compensation to pig farmers, whose pigs have died because of the outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) within the state.
Vanlalvena knowledgeable the parliament on Friday that over 29,800 pigs have been killed in Mizoram because of the outbreak of ASF and termed the outbreak as a “catastrophe and pure calamity” for the poor farmers.
