Punjab Police Operations Yield Significant Results

In a series of operations, the Punjab Police successfully recovered an RDX-laden IED, four pistols, and a substantial quantity of narcotics. These efforts led to the arrest of 14 individuals linked to foreign-based terror and drug modules, underscoring the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in the region.

Among the notable recoveries, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force seized 1,215 MDMA tablets and approximately 5.50 kilograms of various narcotics. These operations reflect the Punjab Police’s commitment to tackling drug trafficking and enhancing public safety.

Recruitment Drive Announced

<pIn addition to their operational successes, the Punjab Police announced a recruitment drive for 3,297 Constable positions, aimed at bolstering the police force across districts in Punjab. The online application process is set to commence on March 10, 2026.

To be eligible for the Constable posts, candidates must have completed Class 12 from a recognized board. The recruitment includes 2,522 vacancies in the District Police Cadre and 775 in the Armed Police Cadre. Selected candidates will receive a starting salary of Rs 19,900 per month, with a minimum age requirement of 18 years.

This recruitment initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the police force and enhance law enforcement capabilities in Punjab. As the state continues to grapple with issues related to crime and drug abuse, the Punjab Police’s efforts in both operational and recruitment fronts are crucial.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the timeline for the completion of the recruitment process and the specific measures that will be implemented to ensure the effectiveness of the new hires.
