Mitchell Owen is in the running to replace Josh Inglis in the Punjab Kings batting order after Inglis’s recent move to the Lucknow Super Giants.

Head coach Ricky Ponting has identified Owen, along with Cooper Connolly, Suryansh Shedge, and Vishnu Vinod, as potential candidates to fill the vacancy left by Inglis.

“Yeah, absolutely (on whether Connolly or Owen can be a like-for-like replacement for Inglis),” Ponting stated, emphasizing the capabilities of both players.

Ponting noted, “I have seen Connolly and Owen be ultra-destructive at the top of the order for their respective BBL teams,” highlighting their impressive performances in the Big Bash League.
