The SSA will continue the “Teaching at the Right Level” (TaRL) program for students in Classes 3 to 5. Teachers are required to complete baseline assessments by May 5, 2026. Midline assessments must be finished by June 30, 2026, and endline assessments are due by February 25, 2027.

Schools will upload students’ learning achievement data to Shiksha Setu after each assessment. Key resource persons (KRPs) will conduct online orientation sessions for teachers in phases, ensuring they are well-prepared for the upcoming assessments.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma emphasized that the financial outlay of the SSA’s structured pay framework can’t be quantified merely in monetary terms. He stated, “The financial impact that we are going to have cannot be judged in terms of the rupees we spent.” This highlights a broader perspective on educational investment.

He noted that there are 23,000 smiles from teachers and potentially 100,000 smiles from their families due to this initiative. This statement reflects the positive community impact expected from improved educational policies.

The SSA collaborates with the Pratham Education Foundation to enhance foundational reading and arithmetic skills among students. This partnership aims to create a more effective education policy in Meghalaya.
