Mad Max Prequel's First Pictures by Anya Taylor
Behind-the-scenes photos from the set of George Miller's Mad Max prequel, Furiosa, offer a look at the film's star, Anya Taylor-Joy.
Based on the photos, Taylor-Joy has traded in her usual platinum blonde hair for messy, matted brown locks with tattered clothing to match the dystopian world she must survive in.
Furiosa began filming in June, as confirmed by Thor: Love and Thunder's Chris Hemsworth, who is also starring in the film in a currently unconfirmed role.
According to Furiosa's synopsis, the film takes place before the events of 2015's Mad Max: Fury Road
The film will follow a young Furiosa after she is "snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus."
More behind-the-scenes photos were released in June while the film was shooting in Australia, offering a first look at Furiosa's fearsome vehicles.
Miller announced the upcoming spinoff/prequel in 2019 and Furiosa received an official release date from Warner Bros. in 2020 though it was later moved to 2024.
