Former Australia fast bowler Brett Lee has weighed in on the debate surrounding cricket’s greatest players, distinguishing between the best batter and the most complete cricketer. While acknowledging Sachin Tendulkar as the finest batter he has witnessed, Lee has named former South Africa all-rounder Jacques Kallis as his choice for the greatest cricketer overall.

He stated, “I’ve always said that I think that the best batsman to ever play the game is Sachin Tendulkar. But the best cricketer is Jacques Kallis. He’s got the best numbers in the world. If you look at his stats, the stats don’t lie. He’s incredible.”

Lee’s argument for Kallis is heavily supported by the South African’s statistical record across both Test and One Day International (ODI) formats. Kallis is notable for being the only cricketer to have achieved more than 10,000 runs and over 250 wickets in both Test and ODI cricket.
