As of early Tuesday, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has implemented extensive measures to provide relief from the heat for pilgrims visiting the Tirumala temple.
Prior to these developments, there were concerns about the limited accommodation facilities during the summer rush, which restricts allocation for over 60,000 pilgrims.
Now, TTD has spent approximately two crore rupees to improve facilities and services. This includes shaded shelters arranged from Batagangamma Circle to Gogarbham Dam Circle and up to the Outer Ring Road.
Within hours of these changes, TTD announced that mobile water drums will provide drinking water to all pilgrims. The initiative aims to combat dehydration amid soaring temperatures.
Additionally, there are now a total of 16 medical centers available for pilgrims in Tirumala. This expansion is crucial as it ensures immediate medical attention can be provided if needed.
To accommodate increased demand, TTD has made an additional 3.50 lakh laddus available during this peak period. This is part of their laddu distribution strategy to ensure all pilgrims receive their share.
Furthermore, TTD is prioritizing accommodation for families with more members. Solo pilgrims will not be allocated rooms under this new arrangement.
The organization has also set up 11 mini Kalyana Kattas in various rest houses. These facilities will help manage the influx of visitors more effectively.
A total of 1,152 barbers, including 269 women, are providing grooming services for pilgrims. This ensures that all visitors can maintain personal hygiene while at the temple.
The measures reflect TTD’s commitment to enhancing pilgrim services during challenging weather conditions. As summer progresses, these initiatives will be vital in ensuring a comfortable experience for all.
